C Sheet

C Sheet is the spreadsheet at https://sheets.conserworks.in. Use a workbook when the job is rows, totals, and files that belong on a particular row. Sign in, then follow the steps below. Reading this page does not require an account.

Create a sheet

From the sheet home, create a workbook and name it for the job: a month of expenses, a party list, a set of form answers. Put real headings in the first row (date, party, amount, note) before you fill data. A sheet with no headings is hard to filter later, and it is hard for someone else to read.

Formulas and filters

Type = in a cell to start a formula. Point it at the amount cells you actually want, not at the heading. If the result looks wrong, check that those cells are numbers. A rupee sign typed into the cell, or a blank row in the middle of a sum, is a common reason the total is off.

Turn the filter on from the header row when you only want to see one party, one status, or one month. A filter hides rows in the view. It does not delete them. Clear the filter before you hand the workbook to someone who must see every row. Sort only after you are sure the heading row stays put, so names do not end up under the wrong amounts.

Attach a file to a cell

Select the cell the file belongs to, for example the expense row for a particular bill, and attach the file there. The attachment stays with that cell, so the proof and the amount are one record. Do not attach the same file to a random empty cell and hope you remember which row it was. If you replace the file, open the cell again and confirm the new file is the one that downloads.

Import a bank PDF

Use import and choose the bank statement PDF. C Sheet reads the statement into rows so you can filter and total it instead of retyping the statement. Before you rely on the sheet, check dates, descriptions, and amounts against the PDF, especially the opening and closing balance. Keep the original PDF until those figures match. A statement with an unusual layout can miss a line; the import does not replace that check.

If the numbers came from a C Forms response workbook, the same formulas and filters apply. The form does not calculate for you after the rows are in the sheet.
